Trip to the Fire Station

When my kids think of field trips, they think of going to museums or visiting family or hanging out at a park or anything that does not involve school work.  I call those things field trips, but a REAL field trip is a trip to the fire station or post office.  Friday we went to the Fire Station.   I have been on a few trips to Fire Stations over the years, but this was one of the best.  The only kids were my three girls, and the only adult was me.  Fire Fighter Josh showed us around.  The girls were interested and asked lots of questions.  He answered them and then would give even more details.  He also did not scare them to death with a ‘fire saftey’ lesson.  I know that they need to know what to do in a fire, but their imaginations are bad enough right now.  They don’t need fuel for the fire.  No pun intended 🙂
